Gemini, short for Generalized Multimodal Intelligence Network, is a multimodal AI model that can process multiple types of data and tasks simultaneously, such as text, images, and code. Gemini is expected to compete with OpenAI’s GPT-4, the latest and most advanced large language model in the world. Gemini is built on the foundations of Google’s previous AI models, such as PaLM 2 and AlphaGo.
