  Threads is a new app that Meta launched on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, as a rival to Twitter. According to CNN, Threads is a microblogging platform that allows users to post short messages, photos and videos, and follow other users. Threads also has some features that differentiate it from Twitter, such as the ability to create private groups, edit posts after publishing, and use emojis and stickers.   Apple has scaled back its production plans for the device due to design challenges, especially with the micro-OLED displays. It is preparing to make fewer than 400,000 units in 2024, which is below its earlier internal sales target of 1 million units.
